Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • Inpatient with acute alcoholic hepatitis
  • Model for End-Stage Liver Disease (MELD) of 15 or greater
  • Recent alcohol abuse

Exclusion

  • Recent infection
  • Other life threatening disease
  • Severe coagulopathy
  • Another non-alcoholic cause of liver disease
