Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • BMI \> 40
  • BMI \> 35 with co-morbidities
  • normal creatinine/liver labs
  • insurance approval for RYGB or resources to self-pay
  • proximity to Nashville, TN

Exclusion

  • use of anticoagulants, steroids, therapeutic niacin
  • previous bariatric surgery
