Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion
- birth weight 500 to 1,250g
- clinically stable
- no contraindications to initiating minimal enteral feeding
Exclusion
- birth weight \> 1,250g
- clinically unstable
- any major congenital anomaly
- significant GI pathology
- severe IUGR
- cholestasis
