Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • all patients between 17 and 70 who are diagnosed with intestinal failure awaiting intestinal/multivisceral transplant

Exclusion

  • active systemic/abdominal infections
  • incurable malignancy
  • acquired immune deficiency syndrome
  • severe cardiopulmonary insufficiency
  • current alcoholism
  • pregnant female
