Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • Diagnosis of schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder based on the ICD-10 criteria for schizophrenia.
  • Patients requiring treatment in outpatients
  • Residence in Peshawar district
  • Patient living with relative(care giver) for at least six months.

Exclusion

  • Evidence of organic mental disorder
  • Evidence of mental retardation
  • Severe drug dependence requiring inpatient treatment and/or detoxification
