- DISEASE CHARACTERISTICS:
- Diagnosis of cancer
- Scheduled to undergo a routine bone marrow aspiration with or without biopsy
- No requirement for conscious sedation during the procedure
- PATIENT CHARACTERISTICS:
- Not specified
- PRIOR CONCURRENT THERAPY:

- No prior acupuncture or acupressure
- No prior participation in this study
