Inclusion

  • Patients \> 7 years old with burns covering 40% or more of body surface who are admitted to the Shriners Hospital for Children, Galveston, Texas

Exclusion

  • Abnormal liver and kidney function,
  • Pregnancy,
  • Diabetes mellitus,
