Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • Age \>/= 18 yrs,
  • Primary admission to the hospital within 8 h after injury
  • Closed head injury
  • Potential for intracranial pressure monitoring

Exclusion

  • Pregnant or nursing women
  • Hemodynamic instability after initial resuscitation
  • Vasopressor therapy for greater than 6 hours
