Inclusion
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus
- Fasting glycemia above 150 mg/dl
- Signed informed consent
Exclusion
- Patients with heart failure \> NYHA II
- Uncontrolled hypertension
- Impaired kidney function (creatinine \> 3 mg/dl)
- Acute infection
