Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • Type 2 diabetes mellitus
  • Fasting glycemia above 150 mg/dl
  • Signed informed consent

Exclusion

  • Patients with heart failure \> NYHA II
  • Uncontrolled hypertension
  • Impaired kidney function (creatinine \> 3 mg/dl)
  • Acute infection
