Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • undergoing surgery with a planned perineural catheter for postoperative analgesia
  • catheter in the interscalene, infraclavicular, popliteal, or femoral anatomic location
  • age 18 years or older

Exclusion

  • pregnancy
  • inability to communicate with the investigators and hospital staff
  • incarceration
