Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion
- carcinoma of the esophagus, operable stage I to III
Exclusion
- patients who were inoperable,
- patients who had obvious impaired blood supply of gastric substitutes, and
- patients who had non-cervical esophagogastrostomy.
