Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion
- All enrolled patients were recruited consecutively on the day of MICU admission and within 24 hours of the diagnosis of severe sepsis.
Exclusion
- Pregnancy,
- Age less than 18 years old, and
- Uncontrolled malignancy.
