Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion
- Acute Intertrochanteric fracture - A1-32 AO/OTA
- Abbreviated mental score \>6
- Community ambulator (pre-fracture state)
Exclusion
- Previous arthritis
- Pathological fracture
- Chronic corticosteroid use
- Concomitant lower extremity fractures
