Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • Acute Intertrochanteric fracture - A1-32 AO/OTA
  • Abbreviated mental score \>6
  • Community ambulator (pre-fracture state)

Exclusion

  • Previous arthritis
  • Pathological fracture
  • Chronic corticosteroid use
  • Concomitant lower extremity fractures
