Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • Pulmonary artery catheter in place for a clinical indication,
  • fever \> 100.4oF

Exclusion

  • significant carotid or cerebrovascular disease,
  • PA catheter is not in proper position as confirmed by chest x-ray
