Inclusion

  • ASA I to III
  • elective or emergency surgery of the hand, forearm and elbow

Exclusion

  • diabetes mellitus
  • neurological deficit
  • contraindications to supraclavicular brachial plexus blockade
  • unable to give consent
  • patient refusal
