Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • Age \>16 years
  • Able to give written informed consent
  • Requiring intercostal tube drainage of a pleural effusion for clinical reasons

Exclusion

  • Requiring intercostal tube drainage for chest trauma
  • Requiring blunt dissection for drain insertion
