Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • age less than 18 years
  • PICU admitting diagnosis of sepsis, respiratory failure, or hepatic failure.

Exclusion

  • hyponatremia or hypernatremia at PICU admission
  • preexisting diagnosis of End-stage renal disease or renal transplant
  • presence of neurologic comorbidities.
