Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion
- Provide written informed consent
- Elective cardiac or aortic surgery
- One or more blood transfusions scheduled for clinical reasons
- Presence of an arterial catheter and pulmonary arterial catheter
Exclusion
- Emergent cardiac surgery.
- Patients requiring irradiated or washed blood transfusions.
