Inclusion

  • patients with extrahepatic cholestasis

Exclusion

  • age under 14 years
  • previous bilio-pancreatic interventions
  • hemoglobinopathy
  • splenomegaly
  • myeloproliferative disorders
  • diabetes mellitus
  • recent blood transfusion in less than one month
