- Sepsis or Septic Shock defined according to SEPSIS-3 criteria - Age \> 18 years
Exclusion
- No informed consent
- Age \< 18 years
- Pregnancy
- Immunosuppression (including transplantation)
- Charlson Comorbidity Index \> 0 (healthy volunteers)
