Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion
- Elective indication for leg amputation
- Peripheral arterial disease
- Age \> 18 years
- Written informed consent
Exclusion
- Patient is incapable of informed consent
- Pregancy and lactation
- Previous surgical or endovenous treatment of the greater saphenous vein in the amputed leg
- Great saphenous vein is used for bypass surgery
- INR \> 1.8
- ASA 5
