Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • Patients at pediatric emergency care unit characterized by:
  • Age from 2 years to 18 years old.
  • All patients with clinical features suggestive of meningitis presented with fever, convulsions and possible meningeal signs.
  • Immuno-compermised patients or patients on steroids specially.

Exclusion

  • Patients above 18 years old .
  • patient with acute infections at sites other than central nervous system.
  • patients with severe hepatic dysfunction .
  • patient with positive family history of metabolic disease .
  • patients known to had congenital CNS abnormality.
