- Healthy
- Normal BMI (20-27)
Exclusion
- Pregnancy
- Gastro-intestinal conditions
- Diabetics,
- Alcohol and substance abuse history,
- Allergy to berberine,
- Current berberine use,
- Use of H2 blockers, proton pump inhibitors, blood sugar-lowering agents, or statins
