Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • qualification for isolated aortic valve replacement
  • age\>18 years
  • given consent for the study

Exclusion

  • reoperation
  • allergy to lidocaine
  • coronary artery disease requiring surgical or percutaneous intervention
  • pregnancy
  • ejection fraction\<30%
  • massive aortic calcification ("porcelain aorta")
