Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • Patients without mechanical ventilation for more than 72 hours
  • Mucus hypersecretion (defined as the need for suctioning \< 2-h intervals)

Exclusion

  • bronchospasm.
  • Pleural effusion or pneumothorax undrained.
  • Bronchopleural or tracheoesophageal fistula.
  • Neuromuscular disease.
