- \- Patients undergoing elective colorectal resection at the S. Anna University Hospital in Ferrara (Italy)
Exclusion
- age \>80 years old,
- American Society of Anesthesia (ASA) score IV,
- TNM stage IV,
- inflammatory bowel disease
