Inclusion

  • elective, oncologic rectum resection in TaTME technique for proven or highly suspected rectal cancer.

Exclusion

  • abdominoperineal resection
  • extended colon resection
  • previous surgery of the rectum, the left colon or the mesocolon/-rectum
  • patients rejecting retrospective data analysis
