Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion
- \- patients \>18 years with an symptomatic og asymptomatic atherosclerotic carotid stenosis ≥ 50% (NASCET criteria)
Exclusion
- active infection
- current antibiotic treatment
- autoimmune or autoinflammatory disease
- malignancies
