Inclusion
- age \>18 years
- radiologically confirmed pleural effusion with an indication for puncture, pleural drain insertion, or video-assisted thoracoscopy for diagnostic and/or therapeutic reasons
- Signed declaration of consent

- Withdrawal or cessation of participation
