Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • cirrhotic patients with oesophageal varices
  • cirrhotic patients without oesophageal varices

Exclusion

  • Patients with hepato-cellular carcinomas \[HCCs\], portal vein thrombosis, hepatic encephalopathy.
  • Patients with positive HCV antibody, but without liver cirrhosis diagnostic criteria
