Decision Aid for Management of Thyroid Nodules and Early Thyroid Cancer Providing Information to Support Treatment Choices for Small Thyroid Nodules

What this Trial Is About

This research focuses on patients with small, favorable malignant or uncertain thyroid nodules. The study aims to evaluate how patients make decisions about managing these nodules by providing them with detailed information and support. The goal is to understand patients' satisfaction with their treatment choices and the decision-making process. Participants will receive educational materials about thyroid nodules and their management. They will continue to receive standard care and counseling from their endocrinologists and surgeons. The study involves completing brief surveys at enrollment, shortly after a surgical consultation, and a few months after either the consultation or surgery. During the study, researchers will track how well patients' informed values match their treatment choices over a six-month period following surgery or consultation. The study also monitors patient satisfaction with their decisions and the decision-making process. Participants will be involved in routine care and follow-up assessments throughout the study duration.
