Inclusion
- eligible for total thyroidectomy
- no previous history of neck surgery or radiation
- no vocal cord pathology
- no voice disorders
Exclusion
- not fit for surgery
- previous history of neck surgery or radiation
- vocal cord pathology
- vocal cord movement disorders
