Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • scheduled for elective direct laryngoscopy with surgical intervention
  • written informed consent of the parents or legal guardian

Exclusion

  • refusal of informed consent
  • known allergy for dexmedetomidine
  • known allergy for remifentanil
  • pulse oxygen saturation (SpO2) is lower than 85%, at induction of anesthesia
