Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

  • Birth weight \>1.8kg
  • Gestation \>35 weeks
  • Aged \<6hours
  • Moderate or severe HIE following perinatal asphyxia

Exclusion

  • Major congenital malformations
  • Inborn errors of metabolism,
  • Congenital infections
  • Imminent death
