What this Trial Is About
This research aims to evaluate the accuracy and speed of complete-arch implant scans using two different photogrammetry systems in adults with edentulous jaws who have implant-supported prostheses. The study compares a conventional intraoral photogrammetry device with a newer mobile-phone-based photogrammetry system to see if the mobile-phone method can provide similar accuracy while being more efficient. This comparison is important for improving digital impression methods in dental implant care. Participants will have their implants scanned using both the intraoral photogrammetry system IPF Elite, Shining 3D and the mobile-phone-based photogrammetry system T-Marker, following each manufacturers instructions. Both methods capture the three-dimensional positions of implants through specialized scan bodies or coded markers, generating digital datasets. These scans are compared to a reference dataset to measure linear and angular discrepancies. Chairside time for each scanning method will also be recorded to assess clinical efficiency. During the study visit, participants will undergo both scanning procedures, and the resulting digital data will be analyzed immediately for accuracy. Researchers will measure differences in implant positions and the time taken for each scan. The primary focus is on linear discrepancies between the scans and the reference data. This observational study involves adults aged 18 to 50 years with complete-arch implant-supported prostheses and aims to provide information that may help clinicians choose the best digital impression technique.
