Researchers are evaluating a new teaching model designed to improve clinical communication, empathy, and emotion regulation in pediatric nursing students. This study compares traditional pediatric nursing education with an innovative approach that combines AI communication simulation and human library storytelling. The goal is to create a more realistic and immersive learning experience to better prepare students for real clinical situations, addressing challenges like nervousness and difficulty applying classroom learning in practice. The study involves two groups one receiving standard pediatric nursing education including lectures, case discussions, and clinical internships, and the other receiving the same curriculum plus the innovative AI-based communication simulation and human library narrative activities. These interventions are delivered during the nursing semester according to course schedules and teaching environments. The research uses a randomized controlled design to compare the effectiveness of these teaching methods. Participants will complete various assessments at baseline, mid-semester 8-9 weeks, and end of semester 18 weeks, including communication skills scales, empathy questionnaires, and emotion regulation evaluations. Qualitative data are collected through structured reflections and focus group interviews to explore students learning experiences and emotional changes. The study runs from August 2026 to July 2027, with continuous monitoring of outcomes to understand the impact of the integrated teaching intervention.
