Granulomatous lobular mastitis GLM is a rare benign breast condition that is challenging to differentiate from breast cancer through clinical exams and imaging. The cause of GLM is not well understood but may involve autoimmune issues, hormone imbalances, or infections. This condition has been increasing in certain regions, especially Mediterranean and Asian countries, and it can cause lasting physical and emotional effects due to its long course and tendency to recur. This research compares three treatment methods to find better options for patients. The study evaluates three treatments surgery alone, triple anti-tuberculosis drug therapy alone, and a combination of surgery followed by drug therapy. Surgical treatment involves removing inflamed breast tissue and damaged skin under anesthesia. The drug therapy includes oral rifampin, isoniazid, and ethambutol at specified doses. Patients receive one of these treatments, and their outcomes are compared to assess cure rates, recurrence, side effects, satisfaction, and treatment duration. Participants are women aged 15 to 65 with confirmed GLM and normal liver and kidney function. Researchers monitor differences in cure and recurrence rates, adverse reactions, patient satisfaction, and treatment length. The study collects clinical and demographic data and monitors patients throughout the treatment process. The goal is to improve understanding of treatment effectiveness and patient experiences while ensuring safety and thorough evaluation until the study ends in October 2024.
