Pruritis is a common symptom in patients with atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. Patients with atopic dermatitis and psoriasis often report pruritis-associated sleep impairments and scratching behaviors during nighttime and the negative impact on their quality of life. However, nocturnal scratch behavior and sleep impairment are poorly understood due to the difficulties in quantifying these symptoms in patients' daily lives. This study deploys multiple technologies (polysomnography, video capture, wrist sensors, clinician-reported outcomes, and patient-reported outcomes) to develop and validate a wrist-based solution to quantify nocturnal scratch.

Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- At least 14 years old and less than 70 years old for atopic dermatitis participants
- Clinical diagnosis of atopic dermatitis
- Peak pruritis Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) score greater than 1 for atopic dermatitis
- At least 18 years old and less than 70 years old for psoriasis participants
- Clinical diagnosis of plaque psoriasis
- Peak pruritis Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) score of at least 4 caused by psoriasis, confirmed by clinician
You will not qualify if you...
- Diagnosed sleep disorders not related to atopic dermatitis or psoriasis, such as sleep apnea or restless leg syndrome
- Movement disorders
- Flare or infection on the wrist
- Infected skin lesions due to atopic dermatitis or psoriasis
- Pregnant or lactating women
- Shift workers or those experiencing jetlag
- Current diagnosis of depression
