Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- 4 to 8 years of age
- English speaking
- Has not had a dental exam or cleaning in the past 3 months
- Stable physical health as determined by study staff
- Able to understand and follow study requirements and attend scheduled visits
- Signed informed assent from child and consent from legal guardian
You will not qualify if you...
- Younger than 4 years or older than 8 years
- Non-English speaking
- Lack of assent or parental/guardian consent
- Current dental pain reported by child or parent
- Known allergies or bad reactions to dogs or dental hygiene products
- Fear of dogs or prior negative experience with dogs
- Severe acute or chronic medical or psychiatric conditions
- Developmental or cognitive disabilities that prevent self-assent or following study procedures
