Evaluating Personalized and Standard Parent-Child Psychotherapy for Children Under 3 Years with Behavior Issues

What this Trial Is About

This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a personalized parent-child psychotherapy strategy compared to a standard Psychodynamic Integrative Therapy in children under 3 years old. The study focuses on improving childrens symptoms, parent-child interaction quality, parental skills, and parental perceptions, assessing these factors over time to understand the impact of these therapies. It is an interventional study sponsored by the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Besancon and uses a randomized design with single masking. Participants receive either the standard integrative psychodynamic therapy or a personalized psychotherapy approach, with treatments delivered as behavioral interventions. The study includes three key evaluation points before starting treatment, at the end of treatment around 4 months, and one year after treatment to assess long-term effects. These therapies are compared to determine their impact on symptom improvement and interaction quality. Throughout the study, evaluations include assessing childrens symptoms, quality of parent-infant interactions, parental competence, parent perceptions of their child, the parent-therapist alliance, and measuring hair cortisol concentration as a stress indicator. Participants will be monitored at these three time points to gather comprehensive data on therapy efficacy and related outcomes, with the primary outcome focusing on therapeutic efficacy at 4 months.
