What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying head and neck tumors, which include cancers originating in areas such as the nasal cavities, sinuses, throat, salivary glands, mouth, and voice box. These tumors often require multiple treatments like surgery, systemic therapy, and radiotherapy. This study aims to systematically gather information on radiotherapy treatments for these cancers to assess tumor response, possible side effects related to dosage and techniques, treatment combinations, disease details, and the psychological effects on patients. The study will collect data from patients treated since January 1, 2000, through December 15, 2030, at the Radiotherapy Unit of the S. Orsola-Malpighi Polyclinic. It includes both new and previously diagnosed cases, with approximately 3,000 patients expected. The data collection focuses on treatments received, including radiotherapy doses, fractionation, techniques, and combinations with other therapies. No changes to standard treatments will be made, and participation involves only sharing existing medical information. Participants will have their medical records, clinical exams, imaging, and therapy data reviewed without any additional procedures or risks. Researchers will evaluate tumor response and therapy side effects throughout the observation period, up to 12 months after enrollment. The study will not provide direct benefits or compensation to participants but aims to improve understanding of treatment outcomes and toxicities to enhance future patient care.
