Researchers are studying the occurrence of low anterior resection syndrome (LARS) and the quality of life in patients with advanced ovarian cancer undergoing cytoreductive surgery. This surgery often involves removing tumors from the rectum and sigmoid colon, which can lead to symptoms like frequent bowel movements and loss of stool control. The study focuses on patients with advanced ovarian cancer who require this type of tumor removal to better understand the impact on their health and daily life. The study evaluates cytoreductive surgery that includes removing tumors involving the rectosigmoid colon. Participants are observed to assess the frequency and severity of LARS after surgery and their quality of life. Assessments occur at multiple time points including before surgery, shortly after surgery, and up to 24 months following surgery, capturing changes over time. Participants will be monitored through various evaluations such as symptom questionnaires, quality of life scales, and stool form assessments at regular intervals before and after surgery. The primary measurement is the frequency of major LARS symptoms 12 months after surgery. Secondary assessments include LARS severity, fecal incontinence impact, stool form, and quality of life related to ovarian cancer symptoms. Safety and well-being will be followed throughout the study period, which may last up to 24 months.
