AI-Summary

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are exploring whether eye examinations combined with big data and artificial intelligence can help in early screening and diagnosis of lung diseases. The study involves people with and without lung conditions to see if eye exam results can assist in identifying disease types and predicting outcomes. This observational study is sponsored by Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-sen University. Participants will undergo various eye tests including slit lamp photography, fundus photography, optical coherence tomography imaging, and optical coherence tomography angiography. They will also have lung-related examinations such as chest X-rays, CT scans, and lung function tests. The study includes a test group with lung diseases and a control group without these diseases. Throughout the study, participants will have regular eye and lung exams and follow-up visits. The main measurement is the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve assessed over about one year. Researchers will monitor results to evaluate how well eye exams combined with artificial intelligence can support lung disease screening and prognosis. The study is expected to last until May 2026.
