Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Male aged 18 to 45 years
  • Body Mass Index (BMI) between 18.5 and 29.9 kg/m²
  • Two abnormal semen analyses after 2 to 7 days of abstinence
  • Azoospermia group: absence of spermatozoa in both semen samples
  • Oligozoospermia group: total sperm number less than 39 million per ejaculate or sperm concentration less than 15 million per ml
  • Asthenozoospermia group: progressive motility less than 32%
  • Teratozoospermia group: morphologically normal sperm less than 4%
  • Willingness to provide feces, urine, and blood samples
  • Ability to complete study questionnaires on lifestyle factors and other data collection tools
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Age under 18 or over 45 years
  • Use of Zocanidin, Vitamin E, antibiotics, clyster, gastrointestinal endoscope, or other semen/gut microbiota affecting drugs in past 30 days
  • High alcohol intake recently or weekly drinking in past month
  • Known genetic causes of male spermatogenic dysfunction such as chromosomal or gene disorders
  • History of male reproductive system damage, surgery, tumor, or infection
  • History of Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, acute gastrointestinal disease, renal failure, liver cirrhosis, hypoplasia, X-rays exposure, or related spermatogenic dysfunction diseases
  • History of intestinal or gastrointestinal surgery (except appendix surgery)
  • History of psychoses or mental conditions causing cognitive impairment preventing study participation
