Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients undergoing elective cataract surgery including phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation
- Adults aged 20 to 80 years
- Both male and female participants
- ASA physical status I or II
You will not qualify if you...
- Patients refusing to participate
- Known neuromuscular disorders such as Guillain-Barre syndrome, myasthenia gravis, or myopathies
- History of seizures or fits
- Using medications that interact with neuromuscular blocking drugs such as aminoglycosides, tetracyclines, or quinidine
- Local infections at injection site
- Blood clotting problems with INR greater than 1.4
- Severe myopia with eye axial length over 30 mm or under 21 mm
- Mental retardation or inability to communicate properly, including deafness
- Morbid obesity with BMI over 40
- Glaucoma with intraocular pressure above 20 mmHg
- Known allergy to study drugs
- Very dense or very soft cataracts
