Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age over 18 years and able to give informed consent
- Diagnosis of primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT)
- Planned exploratory parathyroidectomy (PTX) with intraoperative parathyroid hormone measurement
You will not qualify if you...
- Concordant high-confidence imaging indicating planned focused or selective PTX
- Previous thyroid or parathyroid surgery
- Planned simultaneous thyroid surgery
- Diagnosis of MEN or lithium-induced hyperparathyroidism
- Estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) less than 30
- History of kidney transplant
