Study to Identify Immune and Imaging Factors Predicting Progression in Moderate Aortic Valve Stenosis

Researchers are studying moderate aortic valve stenosis, focusing on understanding the biological markers and mechanisms that influence disease progression. The study aims to identify patients at high risk for severe aortic stenosis and to explore potential new treatments. This observational research is part of a larger collaborative project among three universities and involves examining genetic, immune, and imaging factors that may predict how the condition worsens over time. Participants will be observed without receiving specific treatments as this is an observational study. The study involves collecting multiple types of information including imaging, genetic testing, and immune system assessments to monitor disease development. The plan is to follow 938 patients with moderate aortic stenosis over several years to gather data that may help predict disease progression. Throughout the study, participants will have regular clinical assessments including imaging scans and evaluations of heart function. Researchers will track outcomes such as the worsening of aortic stenosis, hospitalizations, heart attacks, strokes, and mortality over a five-year period. The study will last until 2031, allowing long-term observation of the diseases natural course and its impact on participants health.
