Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • No history of diabetes or hypertension
  • Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate > 60 ml/min/m²
  • Structurally normal kidney on renal ultrasound
  • Body Mass Index (BMI) < 27 kg/m²
  • Age 19 years or older
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Prisoners admitted directly from a correctional facility
  • Children under 19 years or under 50 kg if age unknown
  • End stage renal disease or GFR ≤ 30 mL/min/1.73 m² or need for dialysis
  • End stage heart disease on cardiac transplant list
  • Undergoing procedures without vascular surgery
  • Any transplant patients
  • Patients on ventricular assist devices
  • Patients undergoing emergency procedures
  • Body Mass Index (BMI) > 27 kg/m²
  • Any condition that impedes kidney visualization by ultrasound
