Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- No history of diabetes or hypertension
- Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate > 60 ml/min/m²
- Structurally normal kidney on renal ultrasound
- Body Mass Index (BMI) < 27 kg/m²
- Age 19 years or older
You will not qualify if you...
- Prisoners admitted directly from a correctional facility
- Children under 19 years or under 50 kg if age unknown
- End stage renal disease or GFR ≤ 30 mL/min/1.73 m² or need for dialysis
- End stage heart disease on cardiac transplant list
- Undergoing procedures without vascular surgery
- Any transplant patients
- Patients on ventricular assist devices
- Patients undergoing emergency procedures
- Body Mass Index (BMI) > 27 kg/m²
- Any condition that impedes kidney visualization by ultrasound
