Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Early onset of COPD in individuals younger than 53 years old
  • Spirometry results indicating severe COPD (FEV1 < 40% predicted)
  • Physician-diagnosed COPD
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Severe alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency
  • Other chronic lung diseases except asthma in participants with COPD
  • Pregnant
  • Any previous lung surgery including lung transplant or lung volume reduction surgery unless prior pulmonary function tests are available
