Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Early onset of COPD in individuals younger than 53 years old
- Spirometry results indicating severe COPD (FEV1 < 40% predicted)
- Physician-diagnosed COPD
You will not qualify if you...
- Severe alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency
- Other chronic lung diseases except asthma in participants with COPD
- Pregnant
- Any previous lung surgery including lung transplant or lung volume reduction surgery unless prior pulmonary function tests are available
