What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating the use of diadynamic current, a type of electrotherapy, combined with rehabilitation exercises to treat bruxism in adults. This trial aims to compare the effects of a rehabilitation exercise program alone versus the same program combined with diadynamic current therapy. Participants diagnosed with bruxism and experiencing jaw pain will be randomly assigned to one of these two groups to assess improvements in pain and related functions. Participants in both groups will follow a structured exercise program performed in person three days a week for six weeks. The exercises focus on muscle relaxation, jaw movements, motor control, strengthening, stretching, and posture stabilization. The experimental group will additionally receive diadynamic current therapy during each session, which involves applying electrical stimulation to specific jaw muscles using surface electrodes for a total of 12 minutes per session. Throughout the study, participants will undergo assessments of pain intensity, pressure pain threshold, muscle strength, bite force, maximum mouth opening, and head posture at the beginning and after six weeks. Oral habits, anxiety levels, and sleep quality will also be evaluated. These measurements will help determine the effects of the treatments. The entire study participation will last six weeks with regular supervised sessions and evaluations.
